Special Interests & Certifications: Carly has a special interest in feeding, NDT, oculomotor skills, sensory processing, praxis + motor planning, emotional regulation and improving independence in daily activities. Carly has taken a variety of courses, such as the following: "SOS Approach: Sequential Oral Sensory Approach to Pediatric Feeding," "Zones of Regulation", "Sensory Processing for Early Education", "Cognitive Interventions: Neuroscience Applications, "Motor Planning: Impact on Communication" and "Handwriting Without Tears."
Carly is a native to the Charlotte area. In 2021, she received her Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Exercise Science and Physiology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. In 2024, she obtained her Master’s of Occupational Therapy from University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences at the Austin, TX campus. She has a background working with children with a wide range of diagnoses, including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, developmental delays, oculomotor challenges, anxiety, and sensory processing difficulties in a clinic, school, and home setting. She has additional training and experience working at an inpatient rehabilitation unit and an outpatient clinic where she worked to rehab stroke patients, upper extremity injuries, molding orthotics, and mobilization techniques for tissue and scar management.
Carly has a passion working with children and is able to create a safe, engaging, and creative learning environment during therapy sessions. She hopes to help children achieve lifelong skills and abilities to improve participation in daily activities! Outside of work, Carly enjoys spending time with her friends and family, being outdoors with her puppy, watersports on the lake, cooking, exercising, and traveling!
