At Happy Kids Therapy, we strive to provide excellent care to the children we treat and aim to be an integral part of their care team. We are passionate about our profession, providing services to children in our community.
We make the process easy and work as a team to ensure that your child gets the best treatment for their needs.
REFERRALS
We welcome all referrals!
We welcome referrals from pediatricians, but referrals can come from a variety of sources including but not limited to self-referrals, teacher referrals, or other medical professionals.
EVALUATIONS
All new patients must have an evaluation before starting treatment. Contact us to schedule an evaluation.
1. Once we receive the referral, the child’s caregiver is responsible for completing our intake forms.
2. Then, we will contact you to give insurance benefits information & set up a time to evaluate your child.
3. During the evaluation, we will ask the caregiver questions, administer standardized testing, and conduct clinical observations. The evaluation typically takes an hour and occurs in the child’s home, in the school or can be done virtually.
4. The therapist will develop a written evaluation report with all of their clinical findings.
5. The caregiver will be contacted to review the results and recommendations for treatment.

As a courtesy, we will verify your benefits and submit claims to your insurance prior to scheduling your evaluation or treatment.
If we are considered as an out-of-network provider, ​a fee schedule is found in the signed intake forms all of our services. A superbill can be provided upon request so that you are able to file a claim yourself to seek reimbursement from your insurance company.
Treatment sessions
Treatment sessions are typically anywhere from 30-60 minutes.
We use play-based activities to motivate and engage the child while addressing underlying deficits. The last 5-10 minutes of the session are used for sharing school and/or home programming exercises.
The frequency and duration of treatment services will be dependent upon the results of the evaluation as well as clinical judgement. Progress is impacted by many factors and will be an ongoing discussion between the therapist and the child’s care team.

LOCATIONS
Our therapists are licensed to provide services in both NC and SC.
To help our patients achieve the best outcomes in therapy, we provide treatment where the deficits are needed the most. We are happy to travel to our patients’ homes, schools, preschools, or daycares. Our team serves families in Charlotte, Matthews, Indian Trail, Lake Norman/Cornelius, Indian Land, and Fort Mill/Tega Cay.

located at 105-A Waxhaw Professional Park Drive, Waxhaw, NC 28173.
Teletherapy is also available for our patients using a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform.
