

Brooke Hensley

Brooke has special interest in emotional and sensory regulation protocols, primitive reflex integration, nervous system repair,
oculomotor training and visual impairments, the multi-sensory approach to fine motor and handwriting challenges, as well as the improvement of executive functioning and social skills in a school-based setting.
Brooke holds certifications in “The Zones of Regulation,” “The Alert Program,” “Brain Gym,” “Pediatric Feeding and Swallowing Disorders,” “The Functional Neuroanatomy of the Pediatric Brain,” “The Multi-Sensory Program for Learning and Focus,” among other continuing education courses on various pediatric topics.
Brooke is a Charlotte native with a bachelors degree in mass communications from the University of South Carolina. She was working in broadcast journalism when she found her love for pediatric OT, which prompted a career change. She earned her associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting from Central Piedmont Community College in 2015 and has been working in pediatrics ever since.
Brooke has a passion for learning the ins and outs of the neurodivergent brain and providing teacher and caregiver education, visuals, and home programs to help kiddos thrive in their natural environments. She has personal and professional experience with ADHD, nervous system regulation, anxiety based feeding disorders, sensory processing disorder, and PANDAS, for which she serves as a proud advocate for families within the community. Brooke also holds the position of the Happy Kids Therapy social media and marketing specialist.
When not working, Brooke enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids. She loves interior design, shopping, yoga, needle art, and watching movies and crafting with her kids.
