Special Interests & Certifications: NICU and post NICU graduates, child development, early intervention, fine motor delays, handwriting concerns, sensory processing. Currently expanding skills with feeding and oral motor intervention.
Melissa graduated from Colorado State University in 1999 and in her 21 years of experience has obtained extensive experience with sensory processing disorders, early childhood development, Handwriting without Tears, and improving fine motor, muscle development/strength and coordination.
Most recently, Melissa received training in 2016 and began providing services to NICU babies in Huntersville and Charlotte. In addition, in December 2021, Melissa attended an SOS feeding and oral motor course to expand her skills with clients with feeding, sensory, and oral motor concerns! It is also Melissa’s hope to assist NICU babies and families as they graduate and transition to a home environment!

Melissa has worked in a variety of settings from outpatient pediatrics, outpatient therapy, medical surgical acute care, skilled nursing, traveling therapy, inpatient rehabilitation and most recently treating infants in the NICU setting. Melissa has worked with a wide variety of populations all over the U.S. from the Oregon coast to Williamsburg, VA to South Carolina, although she is the most excited to be back working with children and babies as that is her ultimate favorite group! Melissa loves getting on the floor and playing with children, as well as doing crafts and playing games, and she has a passion for helping children, infants, and toddlers reach their full potential!
Melissa spent most of her childhood in Colorado and after extensive traveling, she finally landed in Cornelius, NC. She is married with two daughters and in her spare time she loves practicing yoga, attending her daughters’ club volleyball games, making jewelry, crafting, and camping in the great outdoors.
